Who still holds the Lion’s Share?
Webinar on key trends in EU funding for civil society, and what this means for the next EU budget
Civil society funding is under pressure. Following the cuts of USAID, many civil society organisations in EU partner countries have had to close offices, scale downoperations, and look for new funding sources.
In this context, in April 2025, the European Commission Directorate for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) will organise a series of regional webinars on access to EU funding for civil society under the current EU budget, in particular the Civil Society thematic programme, within the framework of the Policy Forum on Development (PFD)
CONCORD welcomes the initiative and will complement it with a dedicated capacity building webinar under its Meaningful Engagement project. This session will focus on trends in EU funding for CSOs, drawing on findings from CONCORD’s recent report “Who still holds the Lion’s Share”.
The webinar aims to raise awareness and improve the capacities of Civil Society to engage with and influence the EU as a global actor that builds meaningful and inclusive partnerships, in view of the upcoming negotiations for the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and its programming process.

Nous vous invitons à un webinaire consacré aux tendances de l'UE en matière de financement de la société civile. Ce webinaire s'appuiera sur le récent rapport de CONCORD intitulé "Who still holds the lion's share?" (Qui se taille la part du lion?)
Ce webinaire viendra compléter la série de webinaires régionaux sur l'accès de la société civile aux financements de l'UE, organisés par la Direction générale des partenariats internationaux (DG INTPA) de la Commission européenne dans le cadre du Forum sur le développement (PFD).
Il vise à sensibiliser et à renforcer les capacités de la société civile à dialoguer avec l’UE et à l’influencer en tant qu’acteur mondial qui établit des partenariats significatifs et inclusifs, dans la perspective des négociations à venir sur le prochain cadre financier pluriannuel (CFP) de l’UE et de son processus de programmation.
Le webinaire est ouvert à toutes les OSC et autorités locales intéressées.

Nos gustaría invitarles a ustedes, sus organizaciones asociadas y oficinas regionales a un seminario web de capacitación sobre las tendencias en la financiación de la UE para las organizaciones de la sociedad civil (OSC), basado en el reciente informe de CONCORD titulado «Who still holds the Lion’s Share» (Quién se sigue llevando la mayor parte).
Este seminario complementará la serie de seminarios web regionales sobre el acceso de la sociedad civil a la financiación de la UE en el marco del presupuesto actual de la UE, organizados por la Dirección General de Asociaciones Internacionales (DG INTPA) de la Comisión Europea en el marco del Foro Político sobre el Desarrollo (PFD).
El seminario web tiene como objetivo sensibilizar y mejorar las capacidades de la sociedad civil para interactuar con la UE e influir en ella como actor global que establece asociaciones significativas e inclusivas, con vistas a las negociaciones inminentes sobre el próximo Marco Financiero Plurianual (MFP) de la UE y su proceso de programación.
El seminario web estará disponible en español, y está abierto a todas las OSC y autoridades locales interesadas.
